Pablo Nicotine Pouches Review (One You Need to Read)

NGP Empire, the manufacturers of Pablo, leaned into the social success of Pablo nicotine pouches by inexorably releasing new lines in the mid 2020s. The origins of Pablo go back as far as the mid 2010s where the first Pablo product was released in truly divisive Pablo nature. Obtrusive packaging adorning the face of one of the worlds most famous criminals caused controversy in what was then, the snus market. Since, the new lines have diversified the brands user base. As someone that has seen the brand grow since its’ birth, I have used most of the products. Now is the time to let you know how it stacks up in my ultimate Pablo snus review.

Snusmeister's Two Minute Review

Pablo is a jack of all trades. The variable pouch compositions depending on flavors reflect the brands dedication to servicing the masses. It feels that NGP Empire focus on delivering a pouch for as many palates as possible, rather than perfect the pouch consistency.

Some brands have a signature pouch composition that I have come to know and love. Pablo has varying pouch compositions based on flavor, which I think is suboptimal. It could be argued that flavor is the most important thing, but then that can contradict comfortability and experience in some cases. For sure, the brand has a very good product, but I am not convinced it should have the notoriety it does. That being said, there are some exceptional pouches in the lineup. Whether or not these pouches have been made by mistake or not is anyones' guess!

Pablo Nicotine Pouches Review: Compositions

I have to start first on the pouch composition of Pablo as, for me, there are inconsistencies that should be discussed. If I had to buy Pablo snus, as opposed to getting them for free from my friends at Nicotine Warehouse, I would be a little upset. That sounds a little judgy, so let me explain. The pouches vary in composition depending on the flavor, which can be both exciting and disappointing. Some pouches have, what I would describe as, the perfect pouch composition. Paradoxically, others can be too dry, or too moist. In the latter, the pouches can force an uncomfortable drip to the back of the throat as it moistens further. The drier pouches struggle to exude the amount of flavor, the moister pouches do.

Using Pablo can be a bit of a McDonalds Happy Meal as a kid situation, when you’re hoping for a gun but you get a pink fluffy bear. You never quite know which pouch you are going to be greeted with. No doubt there will be some that prefer the drier pouch, likewise a more moist pouch. Therein lies the issue for new users - to find the perfect Pablo you would need to go through the whole line, or at least some.

Pablo Nicotine Pouches Review: The Flavors

At the time of writing, across the two lines I have reviewed, both the Pablo Gold and Pablo Exclusive, I counted some 20+ flavors. Many of the flavors are duplicated across both lines which are representative of different strengths at 50mg, and 17mg. In both lines the flavors are virtually identical, so I have no complaints about the consistency of flavor profiles. With some brands there can be incredible inconsistencies, even in the same products. NGP Empire do seem to have the Pablo brand well managed from a flavor profile perspective.

There is a but!

The Bad

I think Pablo may well be victim to the inertia of the global markets in nicotine pouches currently. For clarity, the seeming rush to market with more flavors has served as an achilles heel for one of the best independent brands. Against the original Ice Cold, products like Pablo Blue Raspberry and Dark Cherry fall wildly short of the brand flavor standard. Both exude a lot of flavor, rich and deep, which most would consider a good thing, right? Both have good flavor, but the way in which they are executed impact directly on the pouch composition and experience. There is an uncomfortable drip that occurs because of the moisture in the pouches. It is in that drip that the initial depth of flavor wavers, and causes an acidity in the back of the throat. Consequently, the flavor is lost in translation, causing the initial richness to turn into a chemical-like taste.

The Good

I mentioned before that new users would have to go through the lineup of Pablo pouches to find the right one for them. Lucky for you guys I have a moral obligation to writing the most detailed Pablo nicotine pouches review for you to peruse!

Now, the Pablo Kiwi is probably my favorite product in the lineup. Whether NGP Empire focused solely on creating something of near perfection, or whether serendipity lined up with a kiwi in hand is yet to be known. But, this is where composition meets flavor, and the two churn out what I would describe as one of the best products in today’s market. In both 17mg and 50mg, the kiwi flavor is accurate, rich, and then slowly throughout the load maintains the fruity nuances. At the recommended use time of up to 30 minutes, you can still taste the flavor without going nose blind. Even more impressive, there is no initial explosion of flavor in the first instance either, which I prefer. I like both rich and bold, and nuanced flavor profiles, depending on what mood I am in. Kiwi is followed closely behind by Mocca, and Frosted Mint. To clarify my point further, Passionfruit is a similar flavor to Kiwi, and yet, the two pouches are cut from two different cloths. The Passionfruit has the chemical-like acidity, and horrible drip, and the Kiwi stands alone as almost the perfect pouch.

The Pablo Strength in Review

Pablo’s signature of 50mg is where the products are best represented, I believe. The 17mg release in the Pablo Gold Edition looks pretty, and has turned some heads. Entering the lower strength market was a marketing stroke of genius, especially with the way in which it has been executed. But, as 17mg pouches go, Pablo does not accurately reflect that strength bracket fairly. The 17mg is comparable to some VELO products, CUBA White, and Ice - all of which, I believe, have honed better strength accuracies. If you have not heard of these nicotine pouch brands you should check them out if you like lower strength pouches.

At 50mg, or the Exclusive Line, reviewing Pablo really stands out. The original Ice Cold flavor made its mark at this strength level, and the Exclusive iterations continued its glory. There is always the perceived strength of mint, and menthol flavors that seem a little stronger. But, whether it is a fruit infusion, or drinks flavor, Pablo really hits home at 50mg. The nicotine is strong enough to give you a sharp kick a minute or so into the load. Similarly, in some flavors, is enough to continue on the feeling some 15/20 minutes in. The time of day does impact on the feeling, and bearing of Pablo 50mg snus. I try not to use a mint flavor when I first wake in the morning, unless I want to roll over and go straight back to sleep (which has happened a few times). But, a nice fruit flavor at the strength level can be calming, and a nice ride before having to get up and get to work!

Potential Side Effects of Pablo

I have been using snus, and nicotine pouches for a very long time and have been through virtually every experience you can imagine. I have been sick, had headaches, and had pouches open in my mouth. While there are many potential side effects when using nicotine, some good, some bad, some brands have some synonymous with them. It can be quite difficult with Pablo because of the product inconsistencies with both composition and flavor.

One thing I did notice, however, across the products that had an acidic of chemical-like flavor: Overuse made me prone to headaches. It could be argued that this is a prerequisite of using nicotine pouches, but nowhere near as much as Pablo. The flavor content in some of the new flavors caused me to get headaches quite quickly. I surmise that this is not to do with the strength (as it frequently is when using pouches), but the way in which the flavor is delivered. I have used back to back 150mg pouches with less headache issues than some of the Pablo products even at 17mg.

Be aware, especially for new users. Sometimes the flavors can look exciting but the way in which flavor is manufactured into the pouches could be problematic. As someone with asthma, the drip at the back of the throat caused irritation to my breathing, which is why I describe the flavor as chemical-like.

"We don't just sell nicotine pouches, we know nicotine pouches like the back of our hands, so you can too!"

All Nicotine Pouches

In Conclusion

Pablo remains one of the most polarizing players in the nicotine pouch game, a brand that inspires loyalty, frustration, and curiosity in equal measure. With over 20 flavors, varying strengths, and a commitment to bold experimentation, it is clear NGP Empire are not afraid to take risks. Sometimes it pays off, like with Kiwi and Mocca, and sometimes it does not, as with the overly acidic Passionfruit. The inconsistency in pouch composition is a valid concern, especially for seasoned users seeking predictability. Yet there is something about the Pablo experience that keeps you coming back. Maybe it is the raw kick of the 50 milligram pouches or the pursuit of the next hidden gem in the lineup. Whatever the reason, Pablo is not for the faint hearted or the flavor sensitive, but for those willing to dig through the chaos, there is something truly unique waiting. Just bring some patience and maybe a glass of water.
